Danielle Drapeau (Biddeford, ME) scored the first three points of set one for Lasell, on kills down the middle. The hosts went on to score five straight points before Lesley's Meaghan Chadwick (Chelmsford, MA) broke up the Lasers' run, putting down a kill of her own.
Lasell maintained the lead throughout the contest but the Lynx brought the score within two points at 13-11 and 14-12. Lasell managed to pull away to take a 20-15 advantage, but the Lynx came back to close the gap to just two points before the Lasers put the game away, 25-23.
Lesley's Amanda McCracken (Eldersburg, MD) recorded a set-best five kills while Caitlin Vandenburgh (Swansea, MA) came up with eight digs. On the victors side, Taylor Riley (Greencastle, PA) lodged four kills and five digs for Lasell's bests. Meghan Crozier (Ballston Spa, NY) added nine assists to the set.
In the second set, the Lasers came out to a 8-2 run with Megan Gobeille (Lincoln, RI) serving. Lesley brought the score to 8-4 on Lasell errors before consecutive kills by Riley gave Lasell a 10-5 edge.
Lesley fought back, eventually knotting the score at 19-all on an attack by Kaitlyn Wechsler (Merrick, NY). Their tenacious play payed off when they took their first lead (20-19) on an ace by Megan Ortwin (Shanghai, China) followed by McCracken rejecting an overpass by Lasell for a 22-20 advantage. The visitors got to set-point on two addition kills by McCracken and won the set, 25-21, on a Lasell hitting error.
McCracken kept in step with her previous numbers recording five additional kills in the set. Ortwin led with six digs and Miller dished out 12 assists. Lasell's Drapeau put up the best offensive numbers with seven kills, hitting a .357 on 14 total attacks. Crozier put up 11 assists and Riley collected five digs.
The Lasers regrouped in the third set, pulling ahead 10-4 early on. The rally upheld the through a 21-20 advantage before Wechsler evened the score at 21-all after a right side attack found the open court. Lasell's spirited play pushed them to score the final four points, with Drapeau having a field day at the net on Lesley overpasses.
Drapeau put down six kills in the set while Riley and Sarah Eisenberg (Westfield, MA) provided the majority of the defense matching with five digs each. Ortwein notched seven digs in the loss and Wechsler locked up four kills.
The score oscilated over the course of the first 18 points of the final set, leading up to a nine-all tie. Lesley took the lead to break into double-figures but Lasell's resolve kicked in and the Lasers sailed to a 25-17 match-deciding victory.
Riley added five more kills and four additional digs to complete her tenth double-double of the season with 15 kills and 19 digs. Drapeau topped all attackers with 18 kills and Crozier fed 42 assists to her attackers.
In the defeat, McCracken tied Drapeau with 18 kills, while Vandenburgh dug up 25 balls on defense for a match-high. In addition, Miller dished out 43 assists to the Lynx offensive line.
The match concluded the Lasers' regular season record at 12-17. Lasell will await the outcome of the remaining Great Northeast Athletic Conference women's volleyball matches to learn of their standings in the GNAC tournament. Quarter finals of the tournament begin on Tuesday, November 2nd.
