LASERS FALL TO THE PRIDE

It was another close match for the Lasers on Friday night when they took Regis College to five games, but gave way to a 13-15 loss in the final.  The Lasers dropped the first two sets before rebounding to win game three and four and forcing a game five.

Down two games, the Lasers looked to their captains Kelsey Schmidt (Ballston Spa, NY), Nicole Wetterman (Dighton, MA) and Amanda Major (Southbury, CT) to transfer the Pride's momentum over to Lasell.  Schmidt went on the attack, putting down a team high 13 kills in the match.  Wetterman was close behind with 9 kills on the right side, and Major continued to defend the Lasers court with 21 digs on the evening.

Also instrumental to the Lasers turnaround performance were freshman Danielle Drapeau (Biddeford, ME) who had 11 kills and two blocks, and first year setter Meghan Crozier (Ballston Spa, NY) whom picked up 35 assists in the fives sets, along with 15 digs, and two service aces..

The Lasers defense was a key to forcing the fifth set.  Melanie Costa (Ludlow, MA) and Jenna-Lynn Geary (Marion, MA) had 14 and 12 digs respectively.  Geary also dropped in 7 kills.

The Lasers play their final home match of the season on Tuesday, October 28th at 7:00 p.m. against the Pine Manor College Gators.
