T&F: Lasers Set Three New School records at CGA Invite #2

New London, CT - The Lasell University Track and Field team had a successful Saturday, setting three new school records at the Coast Guard Academy Invite.

in the 55m Dash, Kayoni Jordan set a blazing record of 7.79s in the prelims, besting Kendall Logsdon previous record of 8.04s, set in 2011. Jordan would go on to finsih in fifth place in the finals with a time of 7.92s. On the men's side of things, Max corson set a new PR in the event at 7.05s.

In the 55m Hurdles, it was Spencer Villinski setting a school record with a time of 8.88s. This bested DaShaun Hightower's time from 2012 of 8.92s.

The third school record was set by Julianna Huckans, as she cleared 2.50m in the Pole Vault. This was the first time a Laser put up a mark in the Pole Vault in program history.

There were numerous other personal bests for the Lasers, including a pair for Darius Vincent, as his times of 25.73s and 57.31s were the best of his career in the 200m and 400m events. Both corson, and Benjamin Munukka each posted PRs in the Long Jump with marks of 6.46m and 5.95m. Munukka also finished in third place in the High Jump with a mark of 1.75m. Elsewhere on the track, Michael Curran finished in first place in the 800m Run with a time of 2:15.55.

In the throwing events, Jenna Sargeant set a Pr in the weight throw at 8.84m, while Alex McFarlane and Savannah Werner set PRs in the Shot Put at 10.64m and 8.78m respectively.

Up next - The Lasers will compete in one last meet before the GNAC Championships, going to the Bowdoin Meet next weekend.
