T&F: Mixed Relay Team Sets School Record at Suffolk Invite

Boston, MA - It was a succesful day for the Lasell Men's and Women's track and field team on Saturday, as a number of PRs were set, as well as a new school record in the Mixed Relay.

The Lasers ran three seperate teams in the Mixed Relay, with all three breaking the previous school record of 4:42.75 set last year by Jordan Woodley, Nicholas Fernandes, Hanna Babek, and Eftihia Fotos. Both Woodley and Babek were a part of the new record breaking team, joining Madilyn Ebbinghaus and Boston Williams to put up a time of 4:11.48. The second team of Evan Lewis, Kayoni Jordan, Julianna Huckans, and Luigi Gentile posted a time of 4:16.68, while the third team of Darius Vincent, Emily Varga, Patrick Carbone, and Adrianna Tassone finished in 4:35.97.

Indivually, there were a pair of PRs set in both the shot put, and the long jump for the women's team. In the throwing event, Erika Oldham set a new indoor PR with a mark of 8.67m, while Emily Franzik set an overall PR with a mark of 8.95m. Julianna Huckans and Madilyn Ebbinghaus were the ones with PRs in the Long Jump, posting marks of 4.69m and 4.04m respectively.

On the men's side of things, Boston Williams was the star, setting PRs in both the shot put (6.80m), and 60m hurdles (10.03s). Also PRing in the hurdle event was Jordan Woodley with a time of 9.64s.Elsewhere on the track, Ryan Ventura, Patrick Carbone, and Evan Lewis each set PRs in their respective events. Ventura with a 7.80s time in the 60m dash, Carbone with a time of 5:04.19 in the mile, and Lewis with a time of 2:12.59 in the 800m.

Up Next - The Lasers will compete at Tufts University next Saturday.
