WT&F: Lasell competes at the Wesleyan Indoor Invitational

MIDDLETOWN,  Conn. – The Lasell University women's indoor track and field team competed on Saturday at the Wesleyan Indoor Invitational at Wesleyan University.

Sophomore Elise Stanbury (Warren Hills, N.J.) placed sixth out of 23 entries in the shot put (9.75meters/32'0"), while junior Hannah Besaw (Shrewsbury, Mass.) placed 11th (8.48m/27'10"). Freshman Kiara Fournier (Auburn, Maine) recorded a season-best in the long jump (4.24m/13'11").

The Lasers had three entries in the 60-meter dash. Sophomore Emily Hong (Southborough, Mass.) finished 22nd in 8.98 seconds, classmate Itzel Torres (Milford, Mass.) finished 26th in 9.06, and Fournier finished in 9.12, a season best.

Hong and Torres also competed in the 200 meter, finishing 24th and 31st, respectively, in 29.94 and 31.28, a season-best for Hong.

The Lasers will compete again on Sunday, February 16, at the inaugural GNAC Indoor Championships at Boston University.
