WT&F: Lasell competes at Art Farnham Invitational at MIT

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The The Lasell University women's indoor track and field team competed on Saturday at the Art Farnham Invitational at MIT's Johnson Athletic Center.

Three out of the five Lasers in the 60 meter dash recorded season bests. Sophomore Itzel Torres (Milford, Mass.) finished ninth in a season best 8.92, classmate Emily Hong (Southborough, Mass.) finished tenth in a season best 8.96, and senior Allie Clancy (Beverly, Mass.) finished 12th in a season best 9.09. Freshman Kiara Fournier (Auburn, Maine) finished the 60 meter in 9.33 and sophomore Alahna Mild (Bar Harbor, Maine) finished in 9.35.

The Lasers had three entries in the 200 meter dash. Hong was the fastest, finishing 14th in 30.15. Torres was right behind in 16th in 30.76, followed by Clancy in 17th in 31.27.

Lasell finished second in the 4x200 yard relay in a time of 2:04.24, with the team of Clancy, Torres, Hong, and Fournier.

Fournier also competed in the long jump for the Lasers, placing eighth (4.22/13'10.25"). Sophomore Elise Stanbury (Warren Hills, N.J.) placed 10th in the shot put (8.78/28'9.75").

The Lasers will compete again next Saturday, February 1, at the Wesleyan Indoor Invitational at Wesleyan University.
