WT&F: Lasers open 2020 at Reggie Poyau Invitational at Brandeis

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Lasell University women's indoor track and field team opened the 2020 portion of the schedule Saturday with four athletes competing in the Reggie Poyau Invitational at Brandeis University. The meet included a dozen NCAA schools from Divisions II and III.

Sophomore Elise Stanbury (Warren Hills, N.J.) had the top performance for the Lasers, placing ninth out of 35 competitors in the shot put with a mark of 9.79 meters (32'1.5").

Sophomore Emily Hong (Southborough, Mass.) competed in two events for the Lasers. She placed 33rd in the 60 meter dash in a time of 9.16 seconds, and finished 39th in the 200 meters in 30.97 seconds.

Joining Hong in the 60 meter dash for Lasell was sophomore transfer Itzel Torres (Milford, Mass.), who was 32nd in 9.12 seconds, and freshman Alex Lorenzo (Pawtucket, R.I.), who was 40th in the 9.67 seconds.

The next event for Lasell will be the Greater Boston Track Club Invitational at Harvard University on Sunday, January 19, beginning at 9:30 a.m.
