WT&F: Lasers open indoor season at Emmanuel Invitational

ROXBURY, Mass. – The Lasell University women's track and field team competed in its first indoor meet of the season Saturday afternoon, the Emmanuel College Invitational at the Reggie Lewis Center, a large non-scoring event involving more than 15 Division II and III collegiate programs.

Lasell had five women representing the team, led by sophomore Emily Hong (Southborough, Mass.). She led a group of four Lasers in the 60 meter dash, placing 48th in a time of 9.10 seconds, and she was 64th in the 200 meters in 30.54 seconds.

Also competing in the 60m for the Lasers were Alahna Mild (Bar Harbor, Maine), who was 53rd in 9.22 seconds; senior Allie Clancy (Beverly, Mass.), who was 55th in 9.34; and freshman Alex Lorenzo (Pawtucket, R.I.), 57th in 9.41.

Sophomore Nikki Ruggiero (Peabody, Mass.) competed for the Lasers in the 800 meters, placing 14th out of 24 in a personal-best time of 2:41.76.

The next event for Lasell will be the Reggie Poyau Inviational at Brandeis University on Saturday, January 11, 2020.
