George Qualifies for NCAA New England Meet in Long Jump

NEWTON, Mass. (2/18/14) - Lasell College freshmen Tatyana George will compete in the NCAA New England Regional meet on Saturday February 22nd at Springfield. George narrowly missed setting a new school record in the long jumo when she hit the qualifying distance with a jump of 5.0 meters at the Gordon Kelly Invitational on February 8th.

In her first year George has posted season-best times for Lasell in the 60M dash, the 200M dash and the 300M dash while also running on the women's 4x200M relay team that posted a new school record on three separate occasions this season. The 4x200M relay team of George, Ayumi Ranucci, Melissa Cooley and Talia Gabriel set a new school record of 1:53.67 on Saturday February 15th qualifying for the NCAA New England Regional meet where they will compete on Saturday as well.

Senior Chelsea Zeig also competed at Tufts on Saturday afternoon, setting a new personal and school record in the shot put with a distance of 10.88 meters, falling just short of the 11.0 meter qualifying distance for the ECAC's.
