Zeig and Logsdon Pace Women's Track and Field at Farnham Invy

BOSTON, Mass. (1/26/13) - The senior duo of Chelsea Zeig and Kendall Logsdon helped lead the way for the Lasell College women's track and field team as they competed at the Art Farnham Invitational at MIT on Saturday Janury 25th. 

Zeig set a pair of Lasell school records in the shot put and the weight throw recording throws of 10.79 meters in the shot put for 3rd place and 9.34 meters in the weight throw placing 14th. She bested her own marks by distances of .15 meters in the shot and 1.25 meters in the weight throw.

Logsdon tied her own personal best in the 60M dash at 8.82 seconds while finishing 13th. Her time of 30.09 in the 200M dash was good for 11th place, and her jump of 4.68 meters was the fifth best in the meet. 

Ayumi Ranucci narrowly edged out Logsdon in the 60M, finishing 12th with a time of 8.80, while Briana Wrubleski and Talia Gabriel placed 16th and 17th respectively with time of 9.00 and 9.06 while Kelly Pigott finished 24th with a time of 9.76. 

In the 200M, Talia Gabriel posted the best time for the Lasers at 30.02 to finish in 10th place followed by Logsdon in 11th and Pigot 22nd with a time of 33.46. Jamie Russo finished third in the women's 800 M run, finishing with a time of 2:55.44. The sophomore also placed 8th in the mile with a time of 6:16.9 on the afternoon. 

Rachel Knuth was second in the 3,000M run for the Lasers with a time of 12:32.07, while Briana Wrubleski placed third in the 60M hurdles for Lasell posting a time of 10.63.

Tatyana George narrowly missed picking up an individual event victory, placing second in the Long Jump with a jump of 4.95 meters. 

The Lasers will return to the track on Saturday February 1st when they travel to the Tufts Stampede Invitational.
