Women's Track and Field Tackles Tufts University Snowflake Classic

Boston, Mass. (3/30/13) - The Lasell College women's track and field team continued their first ever outdoor season by competing in the Tufts University Snowflake Classic. In a spring marked by winter like conditions the Lasell teams were fortunate that the weather didn't mirror the events name, finally getting to compete in good conditions.

Kendall Logsdon clocked 13.82 in the 100M dash, finishing 27th, and her 29.38 in the 200M dash wasgood for 53rd place. Talia Gabriel ran a 14.18 in the 100M dash, placing 39th and also competed in the long jump for the first time finishing with a distance of 3.68 meters. Melissa Cooley ran a 28.92 in the 200M finishing 45th, and then bounced back to place 27th in the 400M in a time of 1:03.9.

Jamie Russo  placed 27th in the 800M, covering the two-lap distance in 2:40.46, and Rachel Knuth posted a time of 5:47.58 in the 1500M finishing 58th. Chelsea Zeig competed in the discus and shot put, posting performances of 25.35 meters in the discus and 10.50 meters in the shot put.

Lasell will head to Fitchburg State on Saturday April 6th for their next meet.
