Women's Indoor Track and Field Breaks a Pair of School Records in Opener

Waltham, Mass. (12/7/12) – The Lasell College women's indoor track and field team broke a pair of school records in their opening meet of the 2012-13 season when they took to the track at Brandeis University's Reggie Payou Invitational.

Melissa Cooley set a new Lasell mark in the 200M, cruising to a record-break time of 28.7 and finishing in 17th in a field of 40 runners. Erica Miller established a new school record in the 400M at 1:04.92 and narrowly missing finishing in the scoring by less than a second.

Chelsea Zeig turned in a strong showing in the shot put, finishing seventh while being edged out of the points by 0.20 meters on the night.

Lasell will be back on the track on January 19th when they travel to the Tufts University Invitational.
