Hauck Sets New School Record in the 55 Meter

Northampton, MA- Lasell's women's track & field team went head-to-head with some of the toughest competition in New England this weekend at the 2010 Tartan Invitational, hosted by Smith College.  The Amherst College Jeffs finished first in the meet with 136 points, inching by the Worcester State Lancers for the top spot by just ten total points. 

 

Lasell senior Stephanie Hauck (Westwood, MA) ran a new school record in the 55 meter run, beating out the previous best of 9.74 with a new time of 9.52.  Hauck took .25 seconds off her own previous personal best in the race, which she had run at the Reggie Poyau Memorial Track Meet earlier in the season.  Sophomore Cate Hart (Dedham, MA) also competed in the 55 meter race, and finished with a time of 10.04 seconds. 

 

Another top individual performance for the Laser women was run by sophomore Meghan Missett (Lowell, MA).  Missett took 10th place overall in the 5000 meter run with a time of 21 minutes, 37.24 seconds. 

 

Sophomore Stephanie Greenblatt (Houston, TX) and freshman Maura Moody (Winthrop, ME) each took part in the 55 meter hurdles.  Moody finished with a time of 10.12 seconds, while Greenblatt finished in 12.32 seconds.

 

The Lasers will travel to the MIT Co-Ed Invitational on Saturday, February 13th for their next competition.
