
NEWTON, Mass. (10/30/14) – The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced the 2014 Academic All-Region teams, and Lasell College women's soccer seniors Bridget Lynch and Kayla Lynch were both named to the New England Region First Team. The twin sisters from Dover, N.H. share the distinction of being the first-ever Lasell College student-athletes to be named to the Academic All-Region team. There were 11 members selected from New England and the twins' selection made Lasell the only school in New England to have more than one player named to the squad.
The duo are both majoring in Exercise Science with Kayla boasting a 3.97 cumulative grade point average and Bridget just behind with a 3.91 mark for her career. Bridget, a forward leads the team with 27 goals scored in 18 appearances on the season and Kayla who has played a large portion of the year as a defensive midfielder ranks third on the team in goals with four and fourth on the team in points with 10 in 17 matches played.
The twins are now eligible in the voting process for Academic All-American honors which takes place in November, student-athletes must carry a 3.30 grade point average and be a significant contributor to their team in order to be eligible for nomination.
