NEWTON, Mass. (12/13/13) - Lasell College juniors, Bridget and Kayla Lynch were both honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America by being named to the All-New England teams. Bridget was named to the All-New England Second team for the second straight season, and Kayla was selected to the All-New England fourth team for the first time in her career.
Bridget Lynch completed the most prolific scoring season in women's soccer program history setting the single season record for goals with 33 and points with 73 while also becoming the program's all-time leader in goals and points. Her 33 goals and 73 points were both ranked second in the country for NCAA Division III, and helped her to her second consecutive Player of the Year honors in the GNAC.
Kayla Lynch finished fourth in the GNAC and second on the team in goals, playing largely in the midfield for the Lasers. She added six assists on the season, giving her 30 total points, the fifth best mark in the GNAC. While producing less prolific scoring numbers than her sister, Kayla was equally important in spearheading the Lasell attack, which ranked 9th in the nation at 3.55 goals per game.
The duo provided the starting point for the Lasers high pressure defense, harassing the opposition and preventing teams from playing out of the back through their midfield against Lasell.
