Player of the Year Bridget Lynch Headlines Lasell All-GNAC Selections

NEWTON, Mass. (11/11/13) - Lasell College junior Bridget Lynch (Dover, N.H..) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. Freshmen Devon Day (Hartford, Vt.) was named to the GNAC All-Conference Second Team and seniors Jamie Osterberg (Monroe, Conn.) and Jill Greaney (Holyoke, Mass.) were each selected to the GNAC Third Team for the Lasers who won their fourth consecutive GNAC Championship on Saturday afternoon.

Bridget Lynch completed the most prolific scoring season in women's soccer program history setting the single season record for goals with 33 and points with 73 while also becoming the program's all-time leader in goals and points.

A midfielder, Day had a strong first campaign in a Lasell uniform, finishing with 24 points on eight goals and eight assists in 21 appearances. She ranked third in the GNAC in assists and 12th in goals scored while providing the Lasers with a strong scoring punch out of the midfield.

Greaney and Osterberg were keys to a stingy Lasell defense that allowed only 16 goals in 21 matches during the year, including yielding only four goals in 11 regular season GNAC matches. Greaney scored once and added two assists on the season and Osterberg handed out a pair of assists as well, as the duo was increasingly dangerous supplying service for teammates.

The Lasers will make their fourth straight appearance in the NCAA tournament following another record setting season. The 2013 women's soccer team set a new program record for wins at 17, finishing 17-3-1 in 21 contests
