Newton, Mass. (10/13/2012) - The Lasell College women's soccer team used a Molly Masiero (Richmond, Mass) goal in the 83rd minute to break a 1-1 tie an boost Lasell past the Albertus Magnus Falcons 2-1 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action. The victory improves the Lasers record to 10-2 overall and 8-1 in the league, while Albertus Magnus drops to 10-3-2 on the season and 6-2-2 in the GNAC.
Kayla Lynch (COnway, N.H.) and Masiero both netted goals for Lasell, while Bridget Lynch (Conway, N.H.) helped orchestrate her sisters goal with a nice assist. Ashley Parrelli (Marshfield, Mass.) picked up the win in her first start of the season holding the Falcons to a single goal. Shannon Skidmore (Terryville, Conn.) scored the lone goal of the match for Albertus, while Christina Dineson (Milford, Conn.) stopped three shots while taking the loss in goal.
The Lynch sisters linked up in the seventh minute when Bridget popped a ball out of a crowd to Kayla who calmly knocked in the opening goal of the match. Skidmore tallied in the 67th minute to draw Albertus back even with the hosts, but freshmen Molly Masiero put Lasell back on top in the 83rd minute and allowing them to pull out the 2-1 victory.
Albertus Magnus will be back in action on Wednesday October 17th when they travel to Mount Ida for another GNAC match. Lasell will be visiting St. Joseph's (Conn.) on Monday October 15th to make up their postponed matchup from October 3rd.
