Lasell Women’s Soccer Secures First Place in GNAC Tournament & Regular Season Champion Title

NEW HAVEN, CT—The Lasell College women's soccer team is the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) regular season Champion, finishing the year with an 11-2 conference slate after a 1-0 win over Albertus Magnus College concluded regular season play on Saturday.  Jordynn Frollo (Uxbridge, MA) took the free kick in the 80th minute which connected with the Falcons net to put Lasell on top.

 

The Lasers are now 12-4-1 overall this season with just one non-conference regular season contest to go.  Their 11-2 record is the best conference  record in Lasell women's soccer history to date and this if the first time that the Lasers have won the regular season championship.  Lasell is the reigning GNAC tournament champion from 2010.

 

Frollo's goal came after a level contest during which both teams attempted 13 shots.  Lasell's Elizabeth Stickley (Mashpee, MA) collected seven saves in the GNAC shutout over the Falcons.  Albertus' goalkeeper Christina Dineson (Milford, CT) made four stops in the losing effort.

 

The Lasers will close out the regular season at Rhode Island College on Wednesday, October 26th at 4:00 PM.  Lasell will host the GNAC Tournament beginning with the quarter finals on Saturday, October 29th .
