PROVIDENCE, RI-  On Thursday afternoon, Johnson & Wales University (11-4-2, 9-1-2 GNAC) shocked Lasell College (11-4-1, 10-2 GNAC) women's soccer with a 2-1 win in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action.

Johnson & Wales freshman Kayla Sypek (Westhampton, MA) scored both of the hosts goals to lift the second place Wildcats over current league leader and the reigning GNAC Champion Lasell.

Lasell struck first when Jamie Harris (Lynnfield, MA) scored unassisted on a breakaway down the middle of the field, at 27:30.  Johnson & Wales answered quickly with Sypek's first goal, at 29:13, fired into the top right corner of the net.

The 1-1 tie held through the 77th minute at which point Sypek headed in a corner kick from Berkeley Cecchini-Bond (Uncasville, CT) for the game-winner.

Sophomore Kara Collins (North Arlington, NH) had five saves for Johnson & Wales while senior Elizabeth Stickley (Mashpee, MA) had nine stops for Lasell.
