Women's Lacrosse: Bedell, Brady and Kessner named to GNAC All-Conference teams

WINTHROP, Mass. - The Lasell University women's lacrosse team, which qualified for the GNAC Tournament and went 3-1 in its final four regular-season conference games, placed three student-athletes on the All-Conference teams Monday afternoon.

Sophomore defender Kaitlin Bedell earned All-Conference first team honors and represented the Lasers (7-10, 6-7 GNAC) on the All-Sportsmanship team, while senior midfielder Sydney Brady and sophomore attack Teresa Kessner were named to the All-Conference second and third team, respectively. At the conclusion of the 2021 season, Brady and Kessner were recognized on the All-Conference first team and Bedell took home second team laurels.

Bedell tallied 47 ground balls and 24 caused turnovers, ranking second in both categories for Lasell during the 2022 season. She started all 17 games and scored three goals.

The Londonderry, New Hampshire, native played a terrific all-around game during a 15-5 triumph against Rivier on April 21 at Grellier Field, compiling career-highs of seven caused turnovers and nine ground balls, as the totals rank tied for fourth and sixth, respectively, in the program's record book. Bedell also scored a goal in the victory. 

Brady led Lasell in goals (60) and points (69), ranking sixth and 11th overall, respectively, in the GNAC in the two categories. The Westfield, Massachusetts, native recorded her 100th collegiate point during a 16-6 triumph over Albertus Magnus during senior day on April 28 at Grellier Field. During the triumph over the Falcons, Brady set career highs in points (10) and assists (3), while tying a personal-best seven goals. She also recorded a career-best 12 draw controls, tied for the fifth most in a single game in program history.

She finished her career with 99 goals and 110 points. During her senior year, she recorded five or more points eight times and four or more goals on 10 occasions.

Kessner ranked first on the Lasers in assists (22), second in points (61) and tied for second in goals (39). The 22 assists were tied for the seventh most in the GNAC. The Brentwood, New York, native compiled three or more goals seven times, four or more assists on three occasions and five or more points seven times during the 2022 season.

Kessner scored a career-high six goals and tied an individual record with eight points during the win over the Raiders on April 21. In a 17-16 overtime victory at Saint Joseph (Conn.) on March 17, she registered a career-high five assists.
