NEWTON, Mass. - Senior midfielder Sydney Brady finished with four goals and two assists for the Lasell University women's lacrosse team Thursday afternoon, as 12 Lasers recorded at least one point in a 16-2 triumph over Mitchell at Grellier Field.

The Lasers (3-5, 2-3 GNAC) also received strong contributions from senior attack Sophia Gadsden (2 goals, 2 assists), freshman midfielder McKenna McCool (2 goals, 1 assist) and junior midfielder Emily Chapdelaine (2 goals). McCool recorded her first collegiate multi-goal game and recorded a career-high three points. Gadsden and Brady have combined for 46 goals this season. The two goals in a single game were personal-bests for Gadsden and Brady.

"We have been working hard these past couple weeks on both sides of the ball," said Gadsden. "It was nice to finally see it all come together today."

Senior goalie Devin Zambruno earned her third win of the season, going the distance and making four saves. Junior defender Natalia Cullen and senior attack Karina Fernandes tallied their first goal and assist, respectively, for the Lasers.

Abby Rasmussen and Daniella Holland each found the back of the net once for the Mariners (1-7).

Brady finished with three goals and one assist in the first quarter, powering the Lasers to a 7-0 advantage at the end of one. McCool scored back-to-back goals, sending Lasell into halftime with a 10-0 lead.

Gadsden tallied two goals and one assist in the third quarter, as a free-position goal by sophomore defender Kaitlin Bedell gave the hosts a 14-0 cushion going into the final 15 minutes. Each team scored two goals in the fourth, as the Lasers closed out the 14-goal victory.

Gadsden led all players with four caused turnovers and freshman defender Shannon Borbee picked up four ground balls, tied for the most in the game. Brady compiled a game-leading six draw controls. Lasell led the shots' category, 32-11, and won 15-of-21 draws.

The Lasers will compete against Great Northeast Athletic Conference-rival Dean at 4 p.m. Saturday in Franklin, Massachusetts.
