GNAC: Lasell’s Jordan McComb named WLX Player of the Week

NEWTON, Mass. – Lasell University graduate student Jordan McComb (Cumberland, R.I.) was recognized Monday by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) for her performance in the Lasers' season-opening victory last Saturday.

McComb was named GNAC Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week, the third time in her career she was earned the top weekly honor.

A three-time All-GNAC performer, McComb recorded a school-record 17 points Saturday to lead Lasell past Norwich University, 23-6, in the GNAC opener. McComb finished with 10 goals and seven assists on the day, both one shy of the school records. Her 17 points eclipsed the mark of 13 points in a game, which Lasell Hall of Famer Mandi Rapisardi accomplished twice in 2006. McComb also finished with a team-high 10 draw controls and five ground balls.

McComb upped her career totals to 185 goals and 44 assists for 229 points. She ranks seventh on Lasell's career scoring list for goals and points and eighth in assists. She also ranks fourth all-time with 75 caused turnovers, and sixth all-time with 158 draw controls and 147 ground balls.

Lasell will be home again this Wednesday, March 24, hosting Emmanuel College in a GNAC contest at 4:00 p.m.
