NEWTON, Mass. – Senior Jordan McComb (Cumberland, R.I.) tallied four goals and three assists for a game-high seven points Tuesday afternoon, including her 200th career point, as Lasell University defeated Gordon College, 17-5, in non-conference women's lacrosse action at Grellier Field.

McComb became the seventh player in program history to reach the 200-point milestone as she upped her career totals to 167 goals, 37 assists and 204 points.

McComb got help on the offensive end of the field from senior Amanda DiLeonardo (West Haven, Conn.), who notched three goals, one assist and a game-high nine draw controls. Sophomore Sydney Brady (Westfield, Mass.) added three goals for the Lasers and seniors Chloe Shugrue (Worcester, Mass.) and Kaeli Leddy (South Portland, Maine) and sophomore Sophia Gadsden (Randolph, Mass.) contributed two goals apiece. Sophomore Courtney Sobolewski (Derry, N.H.) anchored the defense with four ground balls and three caused turnovers.

Senior Sabrina Jandreau (Winslow, Maine) topped the Fighting Scots with two goals. Senior Molly Guthrie (Beaver Falls, Pa.) collected a team-high four draw controls and sophomore Abigail Mansfield (Starksboro, Vt.) collected four grounds balls.

Jandreau gave the visitors the first lead of the game seven minutes in, but Lasell answered with six consecutive goals, including two goals and two assists by McComb and two goals by Leddy, to put the Lasers ahead for good. Gordon scored twice to cut the deficit to 6-3, but Lasell outscored the Fighting Scots 4-1 over the last six minutes of the first half, including two goals by Gadsden, to take a 10-4 lead at the intermission.

Shugrue and Mansfield traded goals early in the second half, but Lasell tallied the final six goals of the contest over the final 20 minutes, including two by Brady, to close out the victory.

Lasell finished with a 26-18 advantage in shots. Senior Morgan Choquet (Cumberland, R.I.) earned the victory in goal for the Lasers with eight saves on 13 shots, while junior Rebecca Resnick (Monroe, Conn.) made six saves for Gordon.

The Lasers (1-0) remain at home on Saturday, March 7, for the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) opener at 3 p.m. against Colby-Sawyer College. Gordon (0-3) will seek its first win on Thursday, March 5, at Salem State University.
