Women's Lacrosse Draws St. Joseph's College (L.I.) in First Round of NCAA Tournament

NEWTON, Mass. (5/10/16) – The Lasell College women's lacrosse team is set to play the Golden Bears of Saint Joseph's College (Long Island) on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament. The First Round contest will be played on the campus of The College of New Jersey, and the winner will face the Lions in the Second Round on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.

The Lasers earned an automatic bid to the NCAA's for the second time in program history after defeating the #2 seeded Wildcats of Johnson and Wales University, 12-9, in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship last weekend. Lasell ended the season at 13-6 and is currently averaging 13.26 goals per game. The Lasers have scored 252 total goals, the most in a season in the program's entirety, led by sophomore Taylor Yandow (Moretown, Vt.) with 48 goals on the year.

St. Joe's (L.I.) earned its second consecutive Skyline Conference title as the #1 seed, defeating #2 Farmingdale Stat 12-9 in the conference finals. The Golden Bears are riding an 11-game winning streak for an overall record of 13-4 this season.
