Women's Lacrosse Tabbed as Runner-Ups in GNAC Preseason Poll

NEWTON, Mass. (2/9/16) – The Lasell College women's lacrosse team has been selected to finished second per the annual Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) preseason poll. The Lasers received two first place votes and 89 points overall as selected by the league's ten head coaches.

Coming off a 12-6 season last year, the Lasers will look to again secure a spot in the 2016 GNAC Championship. Lasell competed in the championship match last year after knocking down Norwich 18-6 and Johnson and Wales 18-11 in the quarterfinal and semifinal games. Saint Joseph's College of Maine, the preseason poll favorite, earned the No. 1 seed in conference standings to host the championship battle, and was then crowned the 2015 champion after a 10-3 victory over the Lasers.

The Lasers will kick off the 2016 schedule on Tuesday, March 1 for a non-conference test at Curry College. Lasell will host its first home game after a trip to San Juan, Puerto Rico on Tuesday, March 22 vs. Bridgewater State.
