Wuorio Earns ECAC All-New England Accolades

Newton, Mass. (05/23/13) - Lasell College junior Britney Wuorio (Bolton, Mass.) was honored by the ECAC for her outstanding 2013 campaign. The New England coaches voted Wuorio onto the All-New England First Team after the attacker tallied 130 points while helping the Lasers to a 15-4 record and their first appearance in the NCAA tournament. Lasell captured the 2013 Great Northeast Athletic Conference regular season and tournament championships and finished the year with an unblemished 9-0 record in GNAC conference games.

Wuorio led the Lasell offense in goals with 84 on the year, and added 46 assists as she compiled 130 total points, the third best mark in NCAA Division III for the 2013 season. The junior posted career-highs in groundballs with 28 and draw controls with 36 as she continued to become a more complete player.

Wuorio was named the GNAC Offensive Player of the Year by the conference's coaches for the second straight season after she led the conference in goals and points. She became the program's fourth 200 goal scorer in Lasell's 20-19 overtime loss to Western New England on April 18th.

Wuorio tallied five or more goals in nine different games while scoring in 18 of the Lasers 19 contests, netting eight goals in two separate occasions.
