Slattery Ties Milestone as Lasell Handles Rivier in Women's Lacrosse

Nashua, N.H. (4/16/13) – The Lasell College women's lacrosse team used a big first half to remain undefeated in Great Northeast Athletic Conference play as they defeated Rivier University 15-6 on Tuesday evening. Lasell improved to 8-0 in conference play and 11-2 for the 2013 campaign while Rivier dropped to 7-6 overall and 4-5 in conference action.

Ashley Slattery (Weymouth, Mass.) tied the Lasell College women's lacrosse program career record for points at 322 with four goals and five assists in the contest. Britney Wuorio (Bolton, Mass.) added three goals and two assists while Caitlyn Brecher (Cheshire, Conn.) and Rebecca Stanton (Agawam, Mass.) each recorded three goals in the victory. Sammy Long recorded the victory in goal for the Lasers, tallying seven saves in the contest.

Elena Reilly scored three times in the contest for the Raiders, while Lauren Brett added two goals and one assist. Danielle Moran made ten saves while taking the loss in goal.

Lasell scored the game's first six goals and held an 11-1 lead at the half as they cruised to their eighth consecutive GNAC victory.

Lasell will be back in action on Thursday April 18th when they host Western New England University at 4:00 p.m.
