Newton, MA-  Senior attack Caitlyn Murphy (Katonah, NY) scored seven goals for the Lasers en route to an 18-3 triumph over the Anna Maria Amcats on Monday afternoon at Grellier Field. Murphy scored the first five goals for Lasell in just over ten minutes in the first half, leading the Lasers to their first victory of the season.  After today's matchup, the Amcats fall to 0-3 on the year.

Murphy's first tally came just 49 seconds into the match on a free possession shot.  Anna Maria's Katie Schebel (Ludlow, Mass.) evened the score to 1-1, at 27:16, but Murphy followed with her next four marks over the next seven minutes to put Lasell up 5-1.

Freshmen midfielders Lexi Giatrelis (Mashpee, Mass.) and Meredith Hessler (Middletown, RI) each cushioned the Lasers lead, connecting with the net twice each to give Lasell a 9-1 advantage with just ten minutes left before the break.  Murphy dropped in two more goals to go up by ten before Schebel closed out the first half recording the Amcats final two goals.

The second half was the Lasers from the opening minute until the final ticks off the clock.  Hessler and Giatrelis each struck once again, followed quickly by Andrea Ward's (Hingham, Mass.) second tally on the season.  April McGrath (Willow Grove, Penn.), Jenna Stitt (Auburn, NH), Ariel Walmark (West Hartford, Conn.), and Cassandra Haase (Ridgewood, NJ) each put in their first goals of the season to end the game 18-3.
