
Weston, MA - Lasell women's basketball fell to the Regis Pride on Saturday afternoon 62-58.
The Lasers started the contest off strong with a 13-6 start to the game, taking them into the second quarter up 7. The Pride then captured the momentum as a 10-2 run to start the second quarter saw them take the lead 16-15. Going into the final minutes of the half, the Lasers were able to string together a couple of buckets and stops and took a 25-21 lead into the break.
Out of halftime, the Pride opened with a 9-2 stretch over the first four minutes in which they reclaimed the lead 30-27. After the Lasers tied it back up at 30, Regis had another 9-2 run where they opened their biggest lead of the game to that point 39-32. In response, the Lasers closed the gap with a 7-2 burst drawing them to within one possession. It was then that Regis hit the next four buckets and went up ten for the first double-digit lead of the game. Facing the 10-point hole almost midway through the fourth, the Lasers didn't lie down and were able to tie the game after a 12-2 run was capped by an Abigail Duclos 3-pointer with just under three minutes to go. Being tied again with 90 seconds on the clock, 56-56, the Pride hit the final six free throws of the game and forced a Laser turnover late, helping them seal the game 62-58.
There were 11 different Lasers who scored on Saturday with Abigail Duclos providing 10 off the bench to lead the Lasers on the afternoon.
