WBB: Lasers Soar Past Falcons at Home

Newton, MA - The Lasers hosted the Falcons of Fisher College on the second night of a back-to-back on Wednesday evening.

Kiara Cerruti opened up the scoring in the game with a baseline jumper. The Lasers pounded the glass early with a lot of second-chance opportunities, and they used this to open an 11-1 lead after the first 4 minutes. This forced Fisher to use its first timeout. At the end of the first quarter, the Lasers held an 18-6 advantage.

At the beginning of the second quarter, Kiara Cerruti once again scored first, ripping the chords on a three on a feed from Juju Nealy. This was the start of another run for the Lasers as they boosted their lead up to 20, 34-14 going into the final minutes of the second quarter. They ended the half up by a score of 42-16 after a fast-break layup by Nai Leigh pushed the lead to 26.

In the third, the Lasers opened with 6 straight making the lead 32 before a timeout by the Falcons. The Lasers continued their pace with the lead amounting to 48 going into the fourth. The Lasers would eventually go on to win the game 82-34.

The box score showed a lot of different Lasers getting in on the action as 14 different Lasers put points on the board. Leading the way for the Lasers scoring was Kiara Cerruti with 13 and Teagan Clancy with 11. Shirle Major also had double digits with 10 points. On the boards, AJ Hyacinthe had a game-high 12 rebounds which helped lead the Lasers to a plus-31 advantage on the glass overall.

Up Next - The Lasers will play again on Saturday afternoon at home versus Albertus Magnus in the first game of a doubleheader with the men.
