Springfield, MA - Friday night the Lasers took a trip to Springfield to go against the Pride of Springfield College.
The Lasers who haven't won on the road yet this year looked to break the streak but faced a tough Springfield squad who came into the evening 5-3 on the year. In the early going of the game, Lasell opened up a slight 8-4 edge off buckets from Kiara Cerruti and Shirle Major. After taking the four-point lead, however, Springfield responded with a 19-6 run giving them a 9-point lead 23-14. Expanding their lead to up to 16 in the second and third quarters, Lasell held the game within striking distance being only down a dozen going into the fourth. In the fourth though, the Pride were able to expand their lead up to over 20 and hold off the Lasers with a final score of 80-58.
Kiara Cerruti was once again the Lasers' leading scorer, scoring 15 points and adding 6 rebounds. Laura Johnson had another great game on the boards, scoring a game-high 13 and chipping in 8 points for a near double-double.
