WBB: Lasers Fall Despite Antonucci's Career High 17 Points

Chicopee, MA - The Lasell Lasers fell to the Elms Blazers on Tuesday night by a final score of 79-66. The loss drops the Lasers to 4-15 on the season, and 3-9 in conference play. The Blazers are now 9-12 and 4-10. When the two teams played earlier in the season at Lasell, the Lasers won 71-64.

After the two teams used the opening five minutes to feel each other out, the Blazers went on a 7-0 run to take a 15-6 lead. They would hold on to that lead in the shape of a 20-13 lead going into the second quarter. While the Lasers tried to chip away at the lead in the second, any time they got a basket, Elms would answer right back. The Blazers would use an 8-2 run to end the half to take a 38-25 lead into halftime.

In the third quarter, the Blazers extended their lead to 18, their largest of the game. But the Lasers responded with a 10-3 run to give themselves some life. After getting the deficit down to 10 at one point, the Lasers trailed 60-47 heading into the final period. The Lasers came out firing in the fourth, and immediately cut the lead to seven. But the Lasers were unable to get any closer the rest of the way, and ultimately fell 79-66.

The Lasers were led by Kaitlyn Antonucci's career high 17 points, she also added four rebounds, three steals, and two blocks. Also scoring in double digits was Juju Nealy and Laura Johnson, as they each scored 10. As a team, the Lasers shot 41/2 % from the field, but just 11.1$ from three point range.
