WBB: Saints Pull Away From Lasers

Boston, MA - The Lasell Lasers fell to the Emmanuel Saints by a final score of 84-55 on Thursday night. The loss drops the Lasers to 3-12 on the season and 2-6 in GNAC play. Emmanuel moves to 12-5 and 7-2.

The Saints got out to a hot start, and led 16-3 just six minutes into the game. But the Lasers fought back, and ended the first quarter on a 9-2 run to trail by just six going into the second quarter with the score 20-14. The teams traded baskets throughout the second quarter, but Emmanuel used a 12-4 run to end the half to take a 37-25 lead at the break.

The Lasers kept things close in the third, but were unable to cut into the Saints' lead. Emmanuel would then break things open in the fourth, ultimately winning 84-55

The Lasers were led by Kaitlyn Antonucci, as she flirted with a triple-double. Antonucci scored a season high 13 points, grabbed nine rebounds, and dished out seven assists. Shirle Major also scored 10 points. Major has now scored in double digits in eight of her last nine games. Jasmine DePina led the team with 13 rebounds, and added nine points.
