WBB: Lasers Drop Road Game to USJ

West Hartford, CT - The Lasell Lasers fell to the Saint Joseph (CT) Blue Jays by a score of 84-45 on Thursday night. The loss drops the Lasers to 3-8 on the season, and 2-2 in conference play. The Blue Jays are now 8-4 and 4-1.

The game was competitive in the first quarter, as the teams went back and forth. The Blue Jays started the game on a 6-0 run, but Lasell answered with a 7-0 run to grab an early lead. The Blue Jays would end the quarter on an 8-5 run to hold a 14-11 lead heading into the second quarter. The Lasers would keep thing close in the second quarter, but the Blue Jays would go on an 11-0 run over the last three minutes of the half to take a 37-22 lead into the break.

The two teams would trade baskets in the third until the Blue Jays again used a run at the end of the quarter, this time a 12-2 run. This would give them a 66-37 lead headed into the final period. The fourth was just like the other quarters, as USJ ended the game on an 8-0 run, taking the win by a final score of 84-45.

The Lasers had two double-digit scores, as Juju Nealy and Brenna Graber each had 10 points. Gabler and Kaitlyn Antonucci each had eight rebounds to lead the Lasers.

Up Next - The Lasers will next hit the court on Wednesday, January 11th, as they will travel to Providence to take on Johnson & Wales. That game will start at 5:30pm.
