Chappell Earns GNAC Second Team; Vincelette Sportsmanship Team

NEWTON, Mass. (3/3/14) - Lasell College junior forward Alexis Chappell (Springfield, Mass.) was named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference All-Conference Second Team following the 2013-14 season. The Springfield, Mass. native averaged 12.8 points per game and 7.4 rebounds per game while shooting 51.8% from the field for the season. 

Chappell was tied for the scoring lead on the team and ranked second in rebounding while ranking 11th in the GNAC in points per game and 14th in the league in rebounding. She led Lasell in field goal percentage and free throws made while tallying 38 steals in 24 games and 23 starts. 

Chappell became the first Lasers women's basketball player to be named to the GNAC All-Conference team since Shauna Kelly in 2009 earned Third Team honors. 

Kayla Vincelette (Westport, Mass.) was named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Sportsmanship team following her senior year. Vincelette started all 26 games, leading the team in minutes played at 36.5 per game. She averaged 9.2 points per game, along with 3.0 rebounds per game and 2.9 assists per game while ranking 10th in the GNAC with 23 blocked shots.
