
Emmanuel earned the top spot in the Great Northeast Athletic
Conference Preseason Women's Basketball Coaches Poll, the
conference office announced on Thursday. The Saints captured the
2008-09 GNAC championship after posting a 22-8 overall record and
11-1 GNAC record. The championship marked the 13th GNAC
championship title in the program's history.
Emerson was second behind Emmanuel with 51 points, followed by
Norwich, Johnson & Wales and Simmons to round out the top five.
Rivier was ranked sixth, while Saint Joseph's (Maine) and Suffolk
filled the final two spots.
