Newton, MA - The Lasers hosted Norwich for a GNAC matchup, collecting two wins on the day. The Lasers rise to 3-1 in conference play, while the Cadets drop to 0-2.
Game 1
Lasell opened up scoring for the day when Abigail Fortin ran home on a wild pitch to give the Lasers an early lead.
The Lasers tacked three more runs on the board in the bottom of the third. Katie Hopkins scored off a sacrafice bunt from Mackenzie Still. Eryn Sheeley and Shyanne Raccio both scored off a single from Alyssa Bland.
An RBI from Emily Mestas in the bottom of the sixth ended scoring on the match, with the Lasers taking home a 6-0 win.
Sheeley collected 8 strikeouts and allowed a singular hit in the win.
Game 2
An RBI single from Sheeley in the first gave the Lasers another quick lead.
The game really opened up in the fourth, starting with a single RBI from Mackenzie Still. Two more RBI singles followed, giving Lasell a 4-0 lead. Emily Rondeau and Hopkins walked, followed by a sacrafice fly from Sheely to finish things up.
An RBI triple from Brianna Gendreau in the bottom of the fifth would seal the deal on the Lasers 8-0 win.
