NEWTON, Mass. (3/25/14) - Lasell College sophomore Eileen Bergin was recognized for her outstanding performance during the Lasers spring trip to Myrtle Beach, naming her the GNAC Pitcher of the week in women's softball. 

Bergin went 4-1 on the slab for Lasell in five starts during their Spring trip. The Arlington, Massachusetts native went the distance in all five starts including a pair of shutouts and the first no-hitter of her career. Bergin fanned 11 over five innings during her no-hitter against New Rochelle as Lasell picked up the five inning shutout. The sophomore hurler struck out 22 over the course of 30 and two-third innings while posting a 2.97 earned run average.

Bergin was also strong at the plate during the southern trip, rapping out nine hits, including a double and a triple, scoring six runs and knocking in four more to help Lasell to a 5-3 record in their opening eight games.
