MXC: Lasers finish up season at NCAA regionals

Boston, Mass. – Senior Joan Guzman (Nantucket, Mass.) was the top finisher for the Lasell University men's cross country team on Saturday at the NCAA DIII East Regional Championship at Franklin Park in Boston.

Guzman crossed the finish line in 210th place out of 236 runners, finishing the 8k course with a time of 33 minutes, 24 seconds. He averaged 6:43 per mile on the beautiful fall day. Junior Zach Kirsch (Winsted, Conn.) was five spots further back in 215th place, finishing with a time of 34:21, averaging 6:54 per mile.

With just two runners, Lasell did not post a team score in the race. The third ranked MIT Engineers finished in first place with a team score of 23 points. MIT finished 44 points lower than second-place Colby College (67). Rounding out the top five was Tufts (118), Bates (126), and WPI (153).

This was the final race of the season for the Lasers.
