NEW LONDON, N.H. – The Lasell University men's cross country team made its season debut Saturday morning, competing in the Colby-Sawyer College Charger Invitational at the Morris Trail.
Junior Zach Kirsch (Winsted, Conn.) was the top Laser finisher, completing the 5K course in 21:00 to place 41st. Senior Joan Guzman (Nantucket, Mass.) was the next Laser across the finish line, crossing in 21:21. Rounding out Lasell's finishers was sophomore Franklin Torres (Cranston, R.I.) in 29:13.
Plymouth State, with a team score of 34, won the team title, followed by UMaine Farmington (40, Norwich University (89), Colby-Sawyer (95), and Saint Joseph's of Maine (103). With a shortened roster, Lasell did not post a team score.
The Lasers are tentatively scheduled to get back into action next Saturday, Sept. 11, at the Smith College Invitational.
