NEWTON, Mass. – A senior on the Lasell College men's cross country team was recognized Monday with a top weekly honor from the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) for his strong performance in a race last Saturday.

Senior Ryan Dalaba (North Granville, N.Y./Granville) has been named GNAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week, as announced by the conference office. Dalaba was the top finisher for Lasell Saturday as the Lasers competed in the University of New England Invitational at Rotary Park in Biddeford, Maine.

Dalaba finished in 15th place among 63 runners in the 8K race, crossing the finish line in 29 minutes, seven seconds. The race, the first 8K distance this season, included teams from the University of New England, Wentworth Institute of Technology, Saint Joseph's College (Maine), Gordon College, and Massachusetts Maritime Academy.

Dalaba and his teammates will run again this Saturday, Sept. 15, at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Invitational.
