T&F: Men's 4x200m Set New School Record at Beacon Invite

Boston, MA - The Lasell Track and Field Team closed out the semester by participating at the Beacon Invite on Sunday.

The highlight of the day came in the Men's 4x200m, as the team of Benjamin Munukka, Max Corson, Nathaniel Gonzalez, and Jordan Woodley placed second with a time of 1:34.06. That time shattered the previous school record by five seconds, a record that had stood for nearly 13 years. The previous record of 1:39.27 was set by Shane Cardillo, Tri Vo, Mike Isherwood, and Stephen Petrin. Each member of the record breaking team also had a successful day in other events, as Gonzalez tied a PR in the high jump at 1.80m, good for 4th, Munukka placed 7th in the same event with a mark of 1.75m, and Woodley set a new PR in the 60m Hurdles at 9.88s, good for 6th.In the same Hurdles event Boston Williams set a PR with a time of 10.10s, good for 7th.

Elsewhere, Darius Vincent set a PR in the 400m dash with a time of 57.67s, while Evan Lewis and Michael Curran finished in fourth and fifth in the 500m with times of 1:12.84 and 1:14.22. In the throwing events, Jeffrey Sanchez and Alex McFarlane each posted PRs, with Snachez throwing 6.55m in the weight throw, and McFarlane 9.34m in the shot put. Patrick Carbone also set a PR in the 800m Run with a time of 2:14.60.

On the women's side of things, Kayoni Jordan set a pair of PRs with times of 8.68s and 29.68s in the 70m and 200m Dashes. She also ran the third leg of the 4x200m Relay, which placed third with a time of 1:54.81. Joining her on that team was Madilyn Ebbinghaus, Hanna Babek, and Julianna Huckans. Huckans also finished 7th in the Long Jump with a mark of 4.48m. A pair of Lasers finished in the top four of the 500m, as Adrianna Tassone finished in third with a time of 1:44.81, and Etihia Fotos finished fourth with 1:50.73.

Up Next - The Track team will take a month off before returning at the Suffolk Invite #2 at the New Balance Track on Saturday, January 13th.
