MTrack: Lasers Finish in Third; Win Four Events

Weston, MA - The Lasell Lasers Track and Field team competed at the Pre-Conference Regis Meet on Saturday, and finished third out of nine teams with 85 points.

It was a productive day for the Lasers, as they had eight top three finishes. Benjamin Abely had three of those, finishing first in both the 100m and 200m Dashes, with times of 11.67s and 23.15s respectively. His 100m time was a season best, while his 200m time was an outdoor PR. He was also a member of the first place 4x100m relay team also compromised of Max Corson, Jordan Woodley, and Kadeem Ambroise. They finished first with a time of 45.97s. Ambroise also had an individual first place finish, winning the 400m Dash event with a time of 53.73s. Woodley placed second in the 400m Hurdle event at 1:04.56. Corson did a little bit of everything, notably posting a season best in the Long Jump at 5.32m, good for fourth. He also competed in the 100m Dash and Javelin. Rounding out the sprinters was Nicholas Fernandes, as he posted an outdoor season best of 59.68s in the 400m Dash, good for fifth. Elsewhere on the track, Michael Curran finished in second place in the 1500m Run with a time of 4:53.33.

In the field, Zachary Kirsch finished in third in the Triple Jump with a mark of 10.66m, and seventh in the Long Jump at 4.84m. In that same Long Jump event, Dillon Ramirez finished eighth with a mark of 4.58m. He also tied a PR in the high jump with 1.55m, placing him in third place. IN the throws, Jeffrey Serrano Sanchez posted a PR in the Hammer Throw with a mark of 27.42m, placing him fifth.

Up Next - The Lasers will conclude their season with the GNAC Championships on Sunday, April 30th. That will take place at Saint Joseph's College.
