WINTHROP, Mass. - After earning two first-place finishes in individual events and setting a school record in the 4x100-meter relay with his team during the Pre-Conference meet Saturday at Regis in Weston, Massachusetts, freshman Brady Mackechnie of the Lasell University men's outdoor track & field team was named GNAC Rookie of the Week Monday.

The weekly honor is the first of Mackechnie's career. He finished first overall during the 110 hurdles (17.11) and 400 hurdles (60.34). Along with his team, the East Longmeadow, Massachusetts, native placed first overall during the 4x100 relay, crossing the finish line in a school-record time of 44.72.

The Lasers will compete in the GNAC Championship Sunday at Colby-Sawyer in New London, New Hampshire.
