SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Freshman Spencer Villinski of the Lasell University men's indoor track & field team placed 10th in the preliminaries of the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.97 seconds at the Springfield College Massasoit Classic Saturday.

Junior Ben Abely led the four Lasers who competed in the finals of the 200-meter dash with his 11th-place finish in a time of 24.29. Freshman Max Corson was next to finish for Lasell, clocking a time of 25.27. Villinski and freshman Julian Vesneske rounded out the Lasers in the 200 meters, recording times of 27.11 and 27.21, respectively.

Junior Richard Barlett was the top finisher for the Lasers in the finals of the shot put, finishing 12th with a distance of 10.46 meters. Two places behind in 14th was sophomore Connor Parker with a mark of 8.51. Rounding out those who competed in the shot put for the Lasers were sophomores Casey Coughlin and Isaac Goldberg, with distances of 6.82 and 6.16, respectively.

Five Lasers competed in the preliminaries of the 60-meter dash. The top finisher in 21st was Abely with a time of 7.43, followed by Corson in 30th with a time of 7.63. Sophmore Kadeem Ambroise covered the course in a time of 7.81 and right behind him was Vesneske posted a time of 8.06. Junior Franklin Torres crossed the finish line with the scoreboard showing 9.15.

Graduate student Jordan Robertson compiled a time of 10.46 in the preliminaries of the 60-meter hurdles.

Sophomore Patrick Carbone and Robertson competed in the finals of the 400-meter dash, tallying times of 1:00.99 and 1:04.94, respectively.

Two Lasers competed in the finals of the long jump led by Corson in 16th with a distance of 5.69. Junior Zachary Kirsch registered a distance of 5.24.

The Lasers will compete next on Friday, Jan. 28, and Saturday, Jan. 29, in the John Thomas Terrier Classic at Boston University.
