Lasell's men's track & field team secured another school
record this weekend as they competed in the Wheaton Invitational on
Saturday.
The Lasers broke the previous school record in the men's distance
medley relay with a time of 11:18.26, taking 25 seconds off the
previous time. Zachary Lambert (Marlborough, MA), Patrick
Slight (Franklin, MA), Isaac Soares (Somerset, MA), and Matthew
Scully (Watertown, CT) were the four athletes to set the distance
medley relay record.
Producing personal season best's during the Invitational were
Mikhail Krevosky (Oxford, MA) in the 55 meter hurdles and Mike
Isherwood (Warwick, RI) in the 400 meter. Krevosky finished
in 9.9 seconds on the hurdles while Isherwood completed his race in
54.74 seconds.
Isaac Montoya (El Paso, TX) also took part in the 55 meter hurdles
race, finishing in 9.83 seconds.
Also completing the 400 meter race were Montoya, Grant Vantine
(Fitchburg, MA), and Jeremy Fay (Belchertown, MA) who ran times of
56.91 seconds, 66.7 seconds, and 72.24 seconds,
respectively.
Steve Petrin (Vernon Center, CT) had a strong meet, placing 12th
overall and winning his heat in the 200 meter dash. Petrin
finished with a time of 24.99.
David Walsh (Springfield, MA) and Raymon Donis (Raynham, MA) also
had fine performances at Wheaton in the 800 meter. Walsh
ended with a time of 2:15.91 and Raymon was close behind with a
time of 2:22:02.
The Lasers' next meet will be on Saturday, February 6th, at the
Tartan Invitational, at Smith College.
