MSOC: Lasers blanked by Johnson & Wales

Providence, R.I. - It was a rough night for the Lasell Men's Soccer as they were defeated by the Wildcats of Johnson & Wales. 

Both teams were held scoreless in the first half despite the fact that the Wildcats had 10 shot attempts over Lasell's 3.

Once the second half started, it was all Johnson & Wales. The Wildcats started their second-half offensive explosion early in the 1st minute of the second half when they scored off of an own goal by Lasell from a corner kick that went into the net. Five minutes later, Ricky Africo (North Providence, RI) netted the Wildcats second goal to give them a 2-0 edge. Then, Brian Miller (Ramsey, NJ) would net the third goal for Johnson and Wales at the 60 minute mark. The final goal would come from Austin Sweeney (Nutley, NJ) as the Wildcats completed their victory over the Lasers 4-0.

Cameron McDonough (Melrose, Mass.) converted 6 saves for the Lasers. The Wildcats lead in shot attempts (25-5).

Lasell falls to 2-6-3 on the season and Johnson & Wales improved to 8-1-2.

The Lasers are back in action on Saturday afternoon when they travel to West Hartford, Connecticut to face the University of Saint Joseph's. Meanwhile, Johnson and Wales will host Norwich University on Saturday afternoon as well.
