MSOC: Perez's late goal forces tie in GNAC clash

NEW HAVEN, CONN. - The Lasers took on GNAC foe the Albertus Magnus Falcons in their second GNAC contest of the season. Lasell and Albertus Magnus finished in a tie 1-1 as the Lasers move to 1-2-2 (0-0-2 in GNAC play) and the Falcons move to 3-1-2 (1-0-1).

The Falcons came out firing with 13 shot attempts in the first half in which none of them resulted in a score. It was thanks to Lasell goalkeeper Cameron McDonough (Melrose, Mass.) as he recorded 7 of his game high 10 saves in the first 45 minutes of the contest.

It wasn't until the 61:05 mark when Albertus Magnus was the first to strike on the board. Falcons senior Kelvin Cortez (Meriden, CT.) scored off of a penalty kick to put Albertus up 1-0. Then, Lasell would respond with a goal of their own in the 84:37 mark. After a missed shot attempt and save, Junior forward Jaydon Perez (Amherst, Mass.) netted in a put-back goal to tie the game for good.

The Lasers are back in action on Saturday afternoon when they face Dean at Taylor Field while the Falcons of Albertus Magnus host Rivier on Saturday afternoon as well.
