MSOC: Lasers bested by Chargers in GNAC clash

New London, N.H. – The Lasell University Lasers men's soccer team fell to the Colby-Sawyer College Chargers, 2-0, Wednesday in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) at Kelsey Soccer Field.

The Lasers fall to 2-12-1 on the year and 1-8-1 in the GNAC while the Chargers improve to 5-8 on the year and 5-6 in the GNAC.

The Chargers got on the board in the 35th minute, following a corner there was a headed clearance attempt by the Laser defense. The ball could not get out of the box and was taken in by senior Alex Carp (Colchester. Vt.) who played a short pass to his right finding junior Callum Buchanan (Eastbourne, England) for the shot that found the bottom left corner.

Colby-Sawyer added a second goal in the 76th minute when freshman Connoer McKearin (Proctor, Vt.) dribbled down the left side and passed the ball into the box finding senior Mason Galbato (North Easton, Mass.) who took a touch to control it and fired it off the bottom of the crossbar and in.

The Chargers had both the edge in shots, 26-12, and in corner kicks with a 12-2 advantage.

The Lasers will be back in action on Saturday, October 23, when they travel to Anna Maria College for a GNAC matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
