Skelton Named GNAC Men's Soccer Player of the Year; Eight Lasers Honored

Lasell College junior forward Mike Skelton (Conway, N.H.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Player of the Year following an impressive campaign for the Lasers. Skelton led the GNAC in goals while ranking tied for 24th in the nation with 14 scores and ranked second overall in the league in points with 31. The Conway, N.H. native helped Lasell earn the No. 1 seed in the GNAC playoffs, leading the squad to a 9-1 GNAC slate during the regular season. On the year, when Skelton scored a goal for Lasell the Lasers went an incredible 10-0 in those matches. Five of his tallies were a game-winning goal which was tied for the second-most among players in the GNAC.

Joining Skelton on the GNAC First Team was junior midfielder Nery Guerra (Guatemala City, Guatemala). Guerra tallied three goals and five assists in 18 appearances for the Lasers, and was heavily involved with helping create scoring opportunities in the Lasell attack.

Senior Adam Luciano (Fairfield, Conn.) was named to the GNAC Second Team, playing in 12 matches and starting eight of them after missing matches early in the season due to injury. The 6'4 center back provided a steadying influence along the Lasell back line, helping key the conference's second stingiest defense.

Seniors Kyle Cronin (Weymouth, Mass.) and Eric Fournier (Meriden, Conn.) were named to the GNAC Third Team, along with juniors Sokol Bako (Roslindale, Mass.), Cedric Dybaud (Weymouth, Mass.) and freshmen goalkeeper Miguel Colmenares (Caracas, Venezuela).

Senior Brennen Adams (Southbury, Conn.) was named as the Lasell representative on the GNAC Sportsmanship Team.
